Blackpath Zone

A zone is private to the people you add. Notes and files are kept on their devices. Black Path passes sealed copies between them and never holds the key.

No account, no tracking. Everything is encrypted in this browser before it leaves. Demo encryption, not yet independently audited.

Ask someone in the zone to open Add a device. Scan the zone code it shows, or paste the code or an invite link below. With a zone code, this device then shows its own code for the zone's owner to scan.

The zone's owner scans this code to add you. It holds this device's public keys only.

Read only. Files come straight from the member's machine over an end-to-end encrypted session; Black Path only helps the two devices find each other.

Each zone has its own keys and its own identity for you. Black Path cannot tell that two of your zones belong to the same person.

Let the new device scan this code. It names the zone and its owner, and holds no key.

2. Scan their code

The new device then shows its own code. Only the zone's owner can scan it and add them.

How sessions connect

Storage and status

Black Path keeps sealed copies for a limited time so devices can fetch them. A device offline for longer gets files only from another member's device or the mirror.

Recovery code

This browser keeps every one of your zones in its own storage, and a browser can clear that storage: when storage runs low, when site data is cleared, or in private windows. Clearing it removes every zone at once. Print your recovery code so you can get your zones back.

This browser

This page's code comes from Black Path's server, so trusting this app means trusting that server. Each release publishes the hash of its code; this app shows the hash it is running below, and refuses to install an update whose files do not match it. The Android app is the stronger choice: its code is on your phone and does not change between visits.
